Hawk

We can only conjecture that he became "Hawk" around the same time his fascination with all-things-Asian began.  Age seems to have mellowed his tastes, and Asian often means something related to food (sushi!)  His daughters continue this preference for the exotic, with manga comics and animated series--some even related to their Papa's favorite game, Go--but it all goes back to food (sushi!).

The end of the Hawk era came after this infamous pose.  He became Michael.
